US President Donald Trump says Israel will have to make significant concessions to Palestinians for peace.
The US president talked about this on Friday’s website on the website of Yiszrael Hajom (Israel Today). The whole interview is on Sunday.
Trump said that the most important step in the year since its inauguration was Jerusalem’s recognition of Israel’s capital. “The highlight of my first Presidency was the recognition of Jerusalem as an Israeli capital, many of which thanked and many people did not thank me, but I promised and respected my word,” the US President said.
“I understand why other presidents did not do this promise. They were under pressure not to do it,” Donald Trump added, pointing out that he did not mind his step.
The Palestinians were outraged by Trump’s decision of December 6, as they also want Jerusalem to be declared their capital during the peace talks. With the announcement of the US President, Washington has broken down several decades of residence on this issue, and the Palestinians have now announced that they seek other mediators for peace talks.
