A breakthrough was reached on negotiations on the conditions for the unification of the United Kingdom, said Donald Tusk, the President of the European Council in Brussels on Monday after he met Leo Varadkar with the Irish Prime Minister.

Tusk called progress on Irish-Northern border control as “encouraging” on Twitter and reported that it was “getting closer” to the second round of negotiations on the future EU-UK relationship.
The Irish Prime Minister also spoke on Monday with Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the European Commission, said Spokesman of the Brussels Spokeswoman Margaritis Szkínas.
Guy Verhofstadt, the Brexit chief negotiator of the European Parliament, gave a glimpse of 50 percent of the chance to reach agreement on Monday between Brussels Juncker and Theresa May, British Prime Minister.
