More than 300 passengers were mistaken for a cruise ship of the Royal Caribbean company. Independence of the Seas on board a six-day trip from Port Everglades, Florida, with 5500 people aboard Jamaica and Haiti. On the second day, however, an epidemic with vomiting and diarrhea broke out on the seaside.
The company reported a total of 332 infected with norovirus. According to WPLG TV companies, however, their number was much higher. The medical division of the ship was not prepared for such a massive illness,
four hours had to wait for the supply due to queuing.
Immediately after the outbreak of the epidemic, intensive disinfection was ordered on the seaside to prevent the spread of the virus – writes Travel Mole. Among other things, guests and staff were asked to do so
the more they wash their hands because it is the best defense against the virus,
which infects 300 million people a year worldwide, “CNN told the company spokesman. In addition to the next journey, additional cleaning was ordered on board.
The Independence of the Seas case does not matter. Last year, for example, the Norahirus inflicted on the Balmoral ocean vessel belonging to the Fred Olsen company, carrying more than 900 passengers for a 35-day trip from Southampton, England to the coasts of North America.
