He chose Quim Torra as President of the Catalan Parliament   

Catalan President elected Independence Party Quim Torra at the Barcelona Parliament on Monday.

For 66 candidates voted together for the Catalunya (Junts pel Catalunya) party, 66 voted in favor, 65 were absent, and 4 were absent from the public call.
The 55-year-old politician won the presidency with a simple majority in the second round of voting after having failed to support the absolute majority of the 135-member parliament, ie 68 MEPs, on Saturday’s first vote.
