Sundar Pichai, Google’s CEO, after discussing with French President Emmanuel Macron, announced that he would set up an artificial intelligence research center in Paris. According to the CEO, France’s “various achievements in science and art make it an ideal venue to accommodate an artificial intelligence research center”.
After California and Switzerland, Paris will be the third venue where Google searches for artificial intelligence. The number of Google employees in Paris is growing from seven hundred to thousands, he added. Facebook has already created such a research center in the capital of France in 2015.
Community media has recently announced that they are planning to invest tens of millions of euros in the project by 2022. Both companies plan to keep digital training in the future for tens of thousands of French people.
