Pest was diagnosed with a child in the American state of Idaho.

The local newspaper Idaho State Journal reported the news to the health authorities of the Northwest Federal State.
The disease occurred in Elmore county, Idaho, near Boise. Neither the health authorities nor the press reports have disclosed the name and age of the sick child. However, they reported that “their condition is improving”.
According to the epidemiologists of the health authority, it is not known whether the child has been infected or has recently come back from a trip to oregon. Oregon is a western neighbor of Idaho.
Since 1940, this is the fifth case that someone has been infected with pests in Idaho. The last two cases were detected in 1991 and 1992, both patients recovered perfectly. According to the US Disease Prevention and Disease Office (CDC), in the United States, there are an average of seven plague diseases per year.
Illness – a dreaded epidemic of the Middle Ages, devastated millions and submerged entire settlements – rodents, including rats and squirrels, spread the fleas. Today it can be cured with antibiotics.
