Again, in Hungary, the best-selling duo of the time, Pet Shop Boys, is played in Hungary. The British formation is on the 24th of August, at the big stage of the Szeged Youth Days (SZIN).
Pet Shop Boys, Neil Tennant singer-songwriter and Chris Lowe keyboard, songwriter, and music are now playing for the seventh time in Hungary. They played for the first time in 1991 at the Budapest Sports Hall, in 2000 they performed at the Budapest Concert Hall at the Felvonulási tér, the Sziget Festival in 2004, the VOLT festival in Sopron in 2006, the Balaton Sound in Zamárdi in 2010 and most recently in 2014 in Budapest Park.
The band, which has been in existence since 1981, has sold more than 50 million albums worldwide, has won three nominations for the British Awards, has been nominated for six Grammy Awards, 42 Top 30 singles, 22 of the top ten in the UK list, West End Girls, It’s a Sin, Always on My Mind and Heart. Other major hits include Go West, Opportunities (Let’s Make Lots of Money), or What Have I Done to Deserve This ?.
Pet Shop Boys has so far made thirteen studio albums, the latest in Super 2016. Last year, a series of re-releases began with a number of bonuses, the series being called Please (1986), Actually (1987), Introspective (1988), Nightlife (1999), Release (2002), Fundamental (2006) (2009) and Elysium (2012) have been released and are also available for sale at Magneoton-Warner.
The organizers have already announced that this year’s 50-year-old Szeged Youth Days will feature Jess Glynne, Wilkinson, a Faithless dj-set, and will give a concert at almost all of the nation’s popular pop music.
