Tesla stopped working on Model 3 again in February, and then the break for four days. The spokesperson of the company said that automotive production is now paused because it improves automation and corrects the errors in the production lines.
There has been a lot of trouble with Model 3, and a new downturn will certainly delay the production of the first real mass-car of Tesla. Musk thought it would be advantageous for competitors if he automated production with a lot of robots, but that’s exactly the opposite.
This was said in an interview last week, as it called excessive automation as a mistake.
During the termination of production of Model 3, some of Tesla’s employees go to leave, while the rest stay at home, but they will not be paid during that time. This break is strange, as just a week ago Musk showed the production line at CBS This Morning and assured that they will be able to assemble thousands of Model 3.
In the first quarter of the year, the company produced 9766 Model 3, but it was already signaled that production may stop on several occasions in the first half of the year, as the production lines are constantly being upgraded.
Kristin Dziczek, director of the Center for Automotive Research, explained that such a downturn was not customary in the automotive industry. He added that time is money, and Tesla is in the belief that there is plenty of both, though that is not the case.
