More than 70,000 people attended civil consultations in Europe in France – Nathalie Loiseau, Europe Minister, announced on Tuesday that the report on the national discussion forums was presented to the Head of State on November 19.
At the Paris closing event of the series that began in April, the minister said that in addition to the 1076 discussion forums in the 97 counties, which were called “citizen consultations”, around 50,000 responded to questions on the Internet.
According to the official French announcement, the debate launched by the French government was organized in all EU Member States outside Hungary and Italy, as well as from Great Britain outside the European Union. The proposals made at the meetings will be the subject of a report to the President of the French Republic, discussed by members of the government at their meeting on 14 December.
“We will use the marked priorities at European level,” said the head of the French news agency. “It was risky because we never know what a civic consultation is about. We have been careful not only to invite Europe-friends,” he added.
“The priorities can vary from country to country, this is logical, but which seems to be very common, concerns about security issues, Europe needs to take it on itself, not rely on others about the future of its defense, which I heard everywhere in every country, – emphasized Nathalie Loiseau.
According to the head of the ministry, many questions have been raised about research and education, about Europe’s desire for Europe to be more dynamic and closer to people, and above all to expect to respond to key issues such as environmental protection or global warming fight.
