He was accused by ten Chinese intelligence agents for industrial espionage on Tuesday in the US justice ministry.
According to the Ministry’s statement, Chinese intelligence and computer hackers cooperating with them wanted to seize aircraft technology information between 2010 and 2015.
In San Diego, California, two Chinese intelligence and six computer-controlled hackers, and two Chinese-based employees in a French factory, were indicted. According to suspicion, one of them provided information about Chinese intelligence on the company’s internal investigation into a hacker attack and the other installed spyware on the corporate computer system.
Accused not only tried to gain industrial and commercial secrets in the United States: in Australia, the United Kingdom and France, they spied on 13 companies. For the time being, only the name of Capstone Turbines, a gas turbine producer in Los Angeles, has been published.
“This is just the beginning. Along with our federal partners, we are doubling our efforts to protect America’s inventiveness and investment,” said John Demers, head of the National Security Department at the Justice Ministry.
In early October, Belgium issued to the United States a Chinese industrial spy, which was also attempting to spell commercial air traffic secrets. In September, a US-backed Chinese soldier was arrested for allegedly assisting American agents in co-operation with Chinese intelligence.
The Chinese embassy in Washington has not commented on the events yet.
