Chief Financial Officer Steve Wynn, the American Republican National Committee (RNC – the Republican Party’s governing body) has been resigned.
The 76-year-old billionaire was accused of having sexually bullied masseuses and forcing one of his colleagues into sexual intercourse.
Wynn called it nonsense and refused the charges and divorced him as his wife’s revenge, defamation. Nevertheless, on Saturday – one day after one newspaper reported bullying in sexual harassment – submitted his resignation. In his statement, he explained that he did not want to “unnecessarily draw attention” to the “incredible successes” of the Republicans that must continue. The RNC Chairman Ronna McDaniel announced that he had accepted the resignation. McDaniel did not want to comment on the charges or the resignation. The allegations of harassment have been reported in The Wall Street Journal. The paper produced an interview with more than a dozen associates of Wynn and found court documents that the billionaire paid $ 7.5 million to a manicist because of forced sexual intercourse.
Steve Wynn was not only the financier of the Republican Party’s finances but also one of the great financial supporters of the party.
